Dr. Sandra Coursey, known professionally as Keytress, is a pianist, composer, and independent music educator dedicated to expanding the boundaries of piano pedagogy and performance and uncovering the forgotten voices of women in music history.

As a composer, Keytress creates pedagogical piano music that is both engaging and artistically rich, ensuring that students of all levels have access to quality repertoire. Through Keytress.com, she curates and distributes her original compositions, helping shape the future of piano education. Her music is featured in the Piano Music Database, and her growing collection of works continues to inspire students and teachers alike.

Beyond her compositions, Keytress is the founder of the Sleeping Beauties project, which revives the overlooked works of historical women composers through modern recordings and performances. Her research into figures like Luella Lockwood Moore and Charlotte Blake sheds light on the contributions of women who were once celebrated but have since faded into obscurity. She actively brings their stories and music to new audiences, ensuring their legacies are not lost. Currently, she is recording Sleeping Beauties as her debut solo album.

A dedicated educator, Keytress operates an independent piano studio, where she fosters creativity and confidence in students of all ages. She has also developed innovative teaching resources, including a digital practice planner and original flashcards, which have gained traction among music educators worldwide. Her Music Growth Club provides a supportive space for adult learners, reinforcing her belief that music education should be lifelong and accessible to all. She teaches students across the U.S., training top students for competitions, while also guiding hobbyists to the joy and fulfillment of music.
